description PURPOSE:To biologically regenerate an adsorbing agent by gradually decomposing the hardly decomposable malodorous component adsorbed by the adsorbing agent by bacteria, by deodorizing malodorous gas by allowing said gas to pass through a deodorant-packed bed formed by mixing the gas adsorbing agent and a peat fiber. CONSTITUTION:A gas adsorbing agent such as activated carbon and a peat fiber are mixed to form a deodorant-packed bed 2 and malodorous gas is introduced into a biological deodorizing tower 1 from a gas introducing pipe 3. A malodorous component easily decomposable by bacteria is decomposed in the deodorant-packed bed 2, and a hardly decomposable component is adsorbed by the gas adsorbing agent and gradually decomposed thereafter by bacteria. The deodorized gas flows out from a pipe 4. In order to inoculate the deodorant- packed bed 2 with bacteria, a dilution liquid of activated sludge may be sprinkled from a water sprinkling pipe 6 prior to passing the malodorous gas and bacteria may be naturally generated while the malodorous gas is treated. Further, water is sprinkled from the water sprinkling pipe to keep the activity of bacteria.
