PRINTING PRESS FOR CORRUGATED FIBREBOARD

PURPOSE:To apply a higher quality decorative printing even to a corrugated fibreboard sheet, by a method wherein a dampening arrangement supplying dampening water to a plate serving as a form is provided and the plate is set to a printing cylinder through a cushion material. CONSTITUTION:An ink is transferred to an image area of a plate by an inking device 10. In a dampening arrangement 12, water in a pan 13 is sucked up by a water fountain roll 14 and, thereafter, the quantity of the water is adjusted by an adjusting roll 15 and, furthermore, a form dampening roll 17 supplies the dampening water by an appropriate amount through an intermediate roll 16 to a non-image area of the plate loaded on a printing cylinder 8. When a corrugated fibreboard sheet is carried between the printing cylinder 8 and a press roll 9 from a paper feeder 1, a lithographic printing is applied to the corrugated fibreboard sheet. According to the degree of irregularities of the printing face of the corrugated fibreboard sheet, a cushion material 20 is expanded in the thickness direction. Therefore, the pressure contact of the plate with the printing face is ensured regardless of the irregularities of the printing face and then the printing is carried out.
