description PURPOSE:To obtain a bioelement which converts the information by the light from the outside to various ions and chemical materials by two-dimensionally arranging the proteoliposomes which are formed by using vial materials and materials analogous to living bodies and convert incident light to ions or chemical materials on a base plate. CONSTITUTION:The bioelement is formed by fixing the proteoliposomes 41 consisting of photoresponsive protein 29, phospholipid 31 and phospholipid antigen 35 via antibodies 37 onto the base plate 39. The fixing is effected by the antige-antibody reaction generated between the phospholipid antigen 35 contained in double lipid layers 43 of the proteoliposomes 41 and the antibodies 37 obtd. as against said phospholipid antigens 35. The inside and outside of the proteoliposomes 41 are filled with an aq. soln. for protecting the vital materials. Calcium ions which are the information transmission material of the bioelement are included in the proteoliposomes 41.
