CONSTITUTION:The end portion of a ceramic substrate 1 is cut obliquely, then glass paste is applied onto a portion 4 where said inclined face section 3 and a flat section 2 contact each other or the circumference thereof, thereafter it is burnt and a projecting glaze layer 5 is formed. Furthermore, paste for heating element is applied onto the upper face thereof, then it is burnt to form a heating element layer 17. Crystal glass, amorphous glass, etc. is employed as the glass for forming the glaze layer 5, while paste containing RuO2 series paste and carbon is employed as the paste for forming the heating element layer 17. Since the thermal head can be arranged obliquely, the installation space can be reduced while since only the projecting portion is required to contact with a heat sensitive paper, the heat sensitive paper can be moved smoothly.
