Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prevent submergence phenomenon and to stabilize blast-furnace operation, by specifying the measurements of the longer and shorter sides of a briquette based on the average grain size of the coke to be charged into a blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:The shape of an iron-ore briquette for a blast furnace is regulated so that longer side measures one-half the average grain size of the coke to be charged into a blast furnace or more and also shorter side measures one-fourth the above grain size or more. By the use of the above briquettes, submergence can be prevented in the blast furnace. Accordingly, permeability in the blast furnace is improved and turbulence of gas stream distribution is prevented, so that stable blast-furnace operation can be carried out.
