description PURPOSE:To secure face-contact between slide parts by a method in which a pressure-bearing metal consisting of a pair of slide members to be mutually combined with each other at their horizontally and vertically curved faces is attached to the bottom plate of two floating caissons, and the two floating caissons are contacted with each other through the pressure-bearing metal. CONSTITUTION:In the slide member 8 of a pressure-bearing metal 3, one end is attached to the contact face of the bottom plate 4 of a floating caisson 1, the other end is shaped into a circular recession extended horizontally, and a circular recession is also formed in the vertical direction. In a slide part 9, a projection to be matched with the vertical and horizontal circular recessions of the slide member 8 is formed. Both the members 8 and 9 are set by matching their recession and projection with a slight spacing, and the member 9 is temporarily coupled by a shear bolt 13 from a slide plate 10 attached with a bolt 11 to both sides of the part 8. The other end of the member 9 is faced almost in parallel with the end face of the pressure-bearing metal 3' of the counter floating caisson 4'. The face-contact of both the members 8 and 9 can thus be secured by relative sliding to eliminate the local concentration of stress.
