These board molds are made by forming the material quality of ceramic fiber consisting of 50-60% Al2O3, 40-50% SiO2 by an inorganic binder, such as sodium silicate, etc. As the board mold has little thermal conductivity, the molten metal, which is cast through the sprue 9 and the runner 3, is cast as the same shape as the casting space 4, and so it is no necessary to cutting, grinding and polishing works as the conventional process. |
