METHOD FOR CONTROLLING COOLING FOR STEEL PLATE

PURPOSE:To well cool a steel plate by setting a shield plate, having apertures opened with a pitch different from the pitch of delivery nozzles to the extent of a constant distance, over the nozzles and opening and shielding cooling water sequentially and accurately in the moving direction of the steel plate on table rollers by movement of the shield plate. CONSTITUTION:A shield plate 4, having apertures 4A opened with a pitch P different from a pitch Q of delivery nozzles 3 to the extent of a constant distance, is set over the delivery nozzles 3 set under table rollers 1. When a rolled steel plate passes on the rollers 1, the shield plate 4 is moved by application of hydraulic pressure to double cylinders 5 and 6 on a carriage 7 to open the apertures 4A corresponding to the passage of the roller steel plate. Movement of the shield plate 4 is accurately performed and cooling at the top and rear ends of the steel plate is adjusted to cool the plate uniformly. Therefore, the quality of the cooled steel plat and the yield are improved.
