Thus, the magnetic recording media 1 generate a forcible deformation 1A and elastic restoring forces F1 and F2 act on the magnetic head 4. The outer circumference part of the magnetic recording media 1 is weaker in rigidity than the inner circumference part, by making narrow the width of a recessed part 8B at the outer circumferential part, the elastic restoring force F1 to occur due to the forcible deformation can be equal to the elastic restoring force F2 in the inner circumferential part, the magnetic head abutting in the same conditions can be obtained regardless of the outer and inner circumferences, and recording and reproducing can be executed stably.
