Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To make it possible to start an engine only by means of a selector lever alone, by providing a switch on the selector lever so that a clutch is disengaged or a speed change gear is set to a neutral position when no engine rotational speed detection signal is issued in accordance with the detection signal of the switch. CONSTITUTION:During starting of an engine 1 a selector lever 7 is set to a position other than a turn-off position, a turn-on switch is turned on so that an electronic control device 9 issues signal for disengaging a clutch 2 and setting a speed change gear 6 to a neutral position. Thereby, the respective actuators are operated to control the clutch 2 and the speed change gear 6. Further, a throttle valve is controlled to a suitable opening degree, and a starter relay is turned on to start an engine. Accordingly, the engine may be started only by the manipulation of the selector lever 7 without using a key switch.
