description PURPOSE:To implement the coupling of rolling stocks without recourse to the coupler by making it possible to operate the multiple train units as a single train. CONSTITUTION:In case a train unit 12 and a train unit 11 are put in a coupled condition, a switching device 13 is switched over which is mounted on the driver's cab. In this condition, a sensor 14 fitted to the front of the train unit 12 measures the distance from the last and 15 of the train unit 11 and speed difference between the last end 15 of the train unit 11 and the sensor 14, which are sent out to a coupling controller 16. Judging from this signal and the speed of the train unit 12, etc., the coupling controller 16 gives control signals necessary for the train unit 12 through the switching device 13 to a rolling stock main controller 6, keeping the distance from the train unit 11 at a definite value in accordance with the speed.
