Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a lubricant having excellent lubricity and capable of improving the durability of magnetic disks etc., which comprises a particular compd. contg. a fluorine-contg. polyoxyalkyl group, an oxyalkylene group, and a polar group as essential components. CONSTITUTION:An intended lubricant is obtd. by incorporating a compd. of formula I (wherein Rf is a fluorine-contg. polyoxyalkyl group; R is an oxyalkylene group; and X is a polar group; and m is 1) (e.g. compds. of formulae II and III wherein n is 14 on the average and m is 6 on the average) as an essential component. The compd. of formula II is obtd. by reacting a perfluoroalkylpolyether carboxylic acid with trichlorotrifluoroethane in the presence of a catalyst to obtain a compd. of formula IV and then reacting the compd. of formula IV with ethylene oxide in the presence of a catalyst. A disk on which the lubricant has been applied is large in total number of revolutions until the magnetic layer is broken and, therefore, is excellent in durability.
