Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:In obtaining the titled compound useful as a raw material for drugs, agricultural chemicals, etc., by reacting a halogenated acetic ester with carbon monoxide, to improve yield simply without using an alcohol, by performing the reaction by the use of a rhodium compound as a catalyst in the presence or absence of an ester. CONSTITUTION:1mol halogenated acetic ester is catalytically reacted with 1-100mol carbon monoxide in a gaseous phase by the use of a rhodium compound or indium compound as a catalyst in the presence or absence of 1-50mol ester, 1-50mol ether, or acetal, to give the aimed compound. The reaction temperature is preferably 100-300 deg.C, and the pressure is advanced at normal pressure. The reaction is used for a common fixed bed reactor useful for a gaseous-phase reaction.
