At the reproducing time, the reflected light from the medium S of a main beam Bw is used as control light, and the reflected light from the medium S of the non-modulated auxiliary beam Bm is divided by a PBS 6, and obtained beams B'm and B''m are received by a photodetector 8b of the second photoelectric converting means 8 and are converted to electric signals, and the difference is operated to reproduce an information signal.
