description PURPOSE:To remove essentially the noise generated at the switching of a head and to reproduce a sound signal of high quality by arranging demodulators correspondingly to respective video heads, and previously compensating respective sound signals so as to continue in time. CONSTITUTION:Signals reproduced from recording tracks by respective video heads 11, 12 are amplified up to the proper amplitude by respective reproducing amplifiers 13, 14 and the amplified signals are inputted to band pass filters 15, 16. The signals passed through the BPFs 15, 16 are demodulated by FM demodulators 17, 18 respectively and the demodulated signals are inputted to delay circuits 19, 20. The delay circuits 19, 20 control respective sound signals detected by a control circuit 21 so that the sound signals are continued correctly in time. A switching circuit 12 switches the signals outputted from the delay circuits 19, 20 on the basis of a switching signal for the video heads 11, 12, so that a reproduced sound signal correctly continued in time is outputted from an output terminal 23.
