ELECTRON SPIN RESONANCE DEVICE

PURPOSE:To enable measurement with good sensitivity by using one electromagnetic horn to transmit and receive a microwave thereby simplifying the constitution of the device and impressing the microwave of high power to a sample. CONSTITUTION:The microwave from a microwave oscillator 9 is fed via an isolator 10, an attenuator 11 and a magic T 12 to an electromagnetic horn 1 from which the magnetic wave is radiated toward the sample 3 in a magnet 4. The microwave which is passed through the sample 3 and reflected by a reflecting plate 5 passes again through the sample and enters the horn 1. Said wave is fed together with the reflected wave having the phase reverse from the phase of the microwave reflected from an impedance converter 23 and equal intensity to a detecting diode 13. The detected signal is fed via an amplifier 17, a demodulator 18 to which the modulating signal to a coil 6 for modulating magnetic field is supplied via a phase shifter 19 and an amplifier 20 to a recorder 21. The change in the reflected wave is thus recorded in association with the magnetic field sweep by an exciting electric power source 22 which excites the magnet 4.
