CONSTITUTION:A carriage 3 is a carriage for exchanging dies 5 for U-forming and moves orthogonally with the direction where a steel plate is conveyed. Two units of suspenders 6 to suspend the dies 5 via rollers 9 are provided to the carriage 3. If the supenders 6 which suspend the dies 5 are connected to a device 11 for tentative placement of the dies, the dies 5 can be freely carried into and out of the suspenders 6. If a die driving device 14 is actuated after the carriage 3 is put into or out of a U-press device 7, fresh dies 12 can be set to a press ram 8 after old dies 13 are taken out. The time for changing the dies of the U- press forming device is reduced by such mechanism and the safety is assured by mechanization of the operation.
