Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To improve input operation for characters hard to select, by inputting characters separately for those which are either easy or hard to select through a character input device on a shift key system. CONSTITUTION:This device is constituted in such a way that easy-to-select characters like characters used in relatively high frequency are inputted at a high speed with bride touches, and characters which can not be read are inputted by displaying on a character display part 7 optionally predetermined characters in a character group which is specified by each key of shift keys 3 and then by selecting a necessary character among them. Character signals regarding thus selected characters are outputted with an execution key 9.
