COMBINED OIL RING

PURPOSE:To aim at preventing a combined oil ring from being worn and as well at preventing oil consumption from increasing, by increasing the contact area between the contact sections of the inner peripheries of side rails which are liable to be worn, and of an expander so that the expander is prevented from solely rotating. CONSTITUTION:An expander 4 in a combined oil ring 3 comprises a body 9 and expanded pawls 10. The body 9 is so arranged that band-like members which are the materials of the expander 4, having notches at both sides thereof are bent into a groove shape, with the widthwise direction of the band-like members being in the sliding direction of the combined oil ring, and the cross-sectioned parts of the band-like member being opened inwardly of the combined oil ring, and are also rounded longitudinally thereof with their both peripheral ends being opposed together having gaps therebetween. The expander pawls 10 are formed at the both vertical ends of the body 9 by bending the vertical ends of the body 9 in the sliding direction of the combined oil ring and in the directions away from each other.
