description PURPOSE:To perform ideal incineration in continuous response to a fluctuation in nature of waste, by a method wherein a burnout point is computed from a relative value between output signals from fire grate temperature detectors respectively attached to the sides up and down the direction of the flow of waste from a burnout set point, and a combustion condition is controlled so that the computing value maintains the burnout set point. CONSTITUTION:Temperature detectors 7 and 8 are located such that the set point of a burnout point is positioned between the nip formed therebetween, and the temperatures of fire grates at the starting terminal part of a combustion stocker 4 and the end terminal part of a combustion stocker 4' are respectively measured. A signal from the temperature detector is processed by a computing processing unit 9, and a burnout point P is computed. When, from the computing result, it is found that an actual burnout point is displaced from the set point, at least one of a feed velocity of waste, a stocker speed and an amount of the air for combustion is controlled by means of an output signal 10 from the computing processing unit 9 so that a burnout point is corrected to the set point, and this performs automatic operation of an incinerator.
