CAR AIR CONDITIONING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To decrease the volume of an inside and outside air switching box containing a damper therein and especially the height thereof, by a method wherein the length L1 of the damper is set to a value approximately equal to width L2 of the opening and closing port of an air inlet. CONSTITUTION:When a damper 5 is swung by about 45 deg. rightward or leftward around a rotary shaft 4, the damper is brought into contact with opening and closing ports 1a and 2a of an inside and outside air inlet to close the openings. length L1 of the damper is set to a value equal to width L2 of the ports, and thereby the ports are completely closed. When the dapmer is swung rightward to introduce the outside air, the damper is moved as it is limited by a guide rail 6 so that the forward end thereof is prevented from collision with the bottom surface of a box and the rear end of the damper is swung leftward along the rotary shaft 4 such that a guide rail 7 for a shaft slinding, extending in the longitudinal direction of a plate surface, prevents collision of the damper with a length L1, sized to be longer than height L3 of the box, with the box. This permits reduction of the volume of an inside and outside air switching box, especially the height thereof.
