CODING SYSTEM OF FACSIMILE SIGNAL

PURPOSE:To improve rapidly the picture quality regardless of the transmission time, by coding sequentially a signal in order from a basic element having high picture quality contributing rate. CONSTITUTION:Information of scanning lines of an input facsimile signal is skipped for several lines at first and for example, information of the (4n-3)th line and of the 4(n+1)-3rd line is coded and transmitted. The information of a line before and after the line desired for coding is coded sequentially from the information having a higher picture quality contributing rate by reference the information of the lines coded already. For example, the intermediate (4n- 1)th line is discriminated and coded as a line having the higher picture quality contributing rate, the (4n-3)th and 4(n+1)-3rd line, referring the information of the said coded lines.
