description PURPOSE:To obtain a battery electrode strong with a low mixing quantity besides having the effective porosity to an electrolyte by using polytetrafluoroethane (PTFE) of the macromolecular weight as a caking agent. CONSTITUTION:Polytetrafluoroethylene having the molecular weight 2-3 millions is used as a binding material when manufacturing a pellet for a battery. When the tension of a solid pellet, which is molded (0.5mm. thick) by a heat roll (200 deg.C, 15min) after 1g of PTFE of each molecular weight is mixed to 100g of an active material Cu2V2O7 of an Li battery while being kneaded for 15min by a stirrer, is measured by instron, the molecular weight 3-5 millions of used PTFE has the greatest strength and that PTFE of the molecular weight 2 millions has about 5 times the strength as compared with that of the molecular weight of 1 million. In this way, the battery electrode having the strong binding force can be formed by making of the macro-molecular weight.
