description PURPOSE:To prevent density stratification by arranging a cylindrical body within a tank at a fixed distance from it. CONSTITUTION:Heat insulating thin plates 25 are fitted through a support bar 24 so that the distance from a membrane 22 is gradually increased toward the lower portion and the upper section of a lower heat insulating thin plate 25 is partially overlapped on the lower section of an upper heat insulating thin plate 25 at the membrane 22 side, and a cylindrical body concentric with a tank structure 21 is formed with individual thin plates 25. The low temperature liquid in an annular space formed between the membrane 22 and the heat insulating thin plates 25 is heated by the heat transfer from the side wall surface of the tank, and the convection upward currents 26, 27 shown by arrows occurs in both upper layer liquid (a) and lower layer liquid (b). The heat insulating thin plates 25 exist at the boundary surface S between the upper layer liquid (a) and lower layer liquid (b), thereby the upward current 26 in the lower layer liquid (b) can not convect at the boundary surface S and is made easy to flow into the upper layer liquid (a), and as a result, the boundary surface S is gradually reduced and density stratification is finally diminished.
