Next, rolls 1, 3 and 2, 4 are set at a prescribed cross angle, and the grinders 22, 23 and the rolls 1, 2 are horizontally turned in one body; then grinding bodies 21a, b are pressed against the rolls 1, 2 parallelly to the roll axes and perpendicularly to the rolls 1, 2 surfaces respectively, to grind the whole width of each roll. In this way, the on-line roll-grinding operation is smoothly and precisely performed. |
