ELECTROMAGNETIC TYPE MOORING ARRANGEMENT

PURPOSE:To facilitate the mooring operation of a ship alongside a quay by a method in which a supporting part is coupled with a guide part attached to a quaywall in a vertically movable manner, and an electromagnet attractable to the outer steel plate of hull is provided to the supporting part. CONSTITUTION:The height of an electromagnet 14 is adjusted by vertically moving a supporting part 16 in relation to a guide part 13 attached to a quaywall 11. The electromagnet 14 is electrically energized to cause the steel outer plate of a ship 12 to be attracted by the magnet 14 for mooring. Or, the guide part 13 may be provided to the side of the hull and steel parts, e.g., fixed column, etc., may be attracted by the magnet 14 supported on the supporting part 16 to be guided by the guide part 13.
