description | PURPOSE:To omit conversion of length on a map into distance and time required for conversion and to remove errors due to the conversion by displaying an optional point on the map by two-dimensional coordinates and inputting a departure position and an objective position at least as coordinate formats. CONSTITUTION:A process memory 15 is constituted by an RAM and the coordinates of a crossing to be an object and the turning directions in addition to the coordinates of a departure position and an objective position are successively stored. Data can be inputted to the process memory through a keyboard 3 or a magnetic card reader 2. If only the departure position coordinates and the objective position coordinates are inputted, the coordinates of crossings close to a line connecting two coordinates are successively retrieved from a crossing memory 14 and can be automatically set up in the process memory 15. Since it is unnecessary to convert the length on the map into a distance, errors due to conversion or the time required for conversion can be removed and the input operation of an optional point on the map can be performed rapidly and precisely. |
