description PURPOSE:To produce clad steel having good adhesive strength at the cladding boundaries and excellent quality inexpensively in a large quantity by supplying molten steel into the space between an endless belt and a cladding material respectively having coolers on the rear side and casting said steel synchronously. CONSTITUTION:Molten steel 2 is supplied through a ladle 4, a charging pipe 6, a tundish 8 covered with a ceiling having a feed port 16 for an inert gas and a channel-like spout. The lower part of the channel-like spout is formed of an endless belt 20 which is turned by turning rolls 18. A guide roll 24 is provided in the upper part of said spout to guide a cladding material 28 which is fed from delivery rolls 26, whereby the top surface of the continuous casting mold is formed. Said top surface is moved synchronously with the belt 20 which is the bottom surface. The molten steel 2 flows into said continuous casting mold, and is cooled and solidified by a cooling box 22 and a supporting box 30, to a two- layered clad material 32 which is drawn out by a driving roll 34. It is also possible to produce a three-layered clad material by applying the material 28 on both top and bottom surfaces.
