Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of scale on the surface of ingots and to improve yield in curved type continous casting by depositing by depositing preventing agents for formation of scale on the surfaces of the ingot in the arbitrary places from a secondary cooling zone by spraying of water up to gas cutting. CONSTITUTION:In a curved type continuous casting installation, nozzles 10 brached from headers 9 for supplying peventing agents for formation of scale are located to face a strand 7 between, for example, guide rolls 4a, 4b, and the preventing agents for formation of scale are sprayed from the nozzles 10. The preventing agents are, for example, the powder consisting, by weight, of 20-25% B2O3, 20-40% SiO2, 15-30% Na2O, 1-5% K2O, 3-8% CaO, and 2-10% Al2O3. Said agents have 70-800 deg.C softening and melting temp. and about 10-500 deg. mesh grain sizes. The agents are sprayed at about 100-1,000g/m per unit area of the ingot on the surfaces of the ingot right after leveling. Thus the formation of scale is prevented and an effect of insulating heat is provided.
