Zusammenfassung:	1408363 Polymerization process ROHM GmbH 12 June 1973 [12 June 1972] 27884/73 Heading C3P In the emulsion polymerization of a mixture of monomers totalling at least 87À5% (by weight) of at least one alkyl acrylate or methacrylate, 0À5-2À5% of an unsaturated carboxylic acid and optionally up to a total of 10% of one or more comonomers, one portion of monomers containing at least 70% of the acid monomer and forming 3-15% of the portion of monomers is added commencing before 50% of the total monomer feed is added and ending before 90% is added and the final 10% of monomers added contains less than 1% of acid and is preferably free of acid. Comonomers used in the examples are styrene and N-methylol methaerylamide together with acrylic, methacrylic or itaconic acid and methyl methacrylate mixed with butyl acrylate, 2-ethyl-hexyl acrylate or ethyl acrylate.
