MANUFACTURE OF NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE FOR BATTERY

PURPOSE:To prepare a desired purified nonaqueous electrolyte in a short time by dissolving a solute in an solvent, and dehydrating and purifying the said solute by a heating distillation or something similar. CONSTITUTION:A vacuum case 2 is charged with a solution 3 prepared by dissolving a solute such as anhydrous lithium perchlorate into a solvent such as propylene carbonate. Next, the solution 3 is heated and distilled with a heater 1 or the like while evacuating the case 2 by means of a distillator provided with a cooler 4. When the initially boiled part is removed into a fractionating case 5, the residual part consists of a propylene carbonate solution containing fully dehydrated lithium perchlorate. By constituting a battery from a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and the above solution used as an electrolyte, a nonaqueous electrolyte battery having both an excellent electric characteristic and a sufficient resistance to use is obtained.
