description PURPOSE:To provide an air conditioner characterized with an increased dust collecting rate, a saved installation space and a reduced pressure loss, by arranging such that the fin of heat exchanger is utilized as the opposing earth electrode of discharge cable for spraying a water over the fin above the heat exchanger, and a water supply tube is provided for flowing down a dust collected therethrough. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger 4 is constituted by a heat exchanging tube 4c for passing a cooling medium therethrough and a multiple of fins 4d secured to the heat exchanger. While an air is introduced to the heat exchanger 4 by a fan 3, a drain pan is provided for receiving a drain from the heat exchanger 4. Moreover, while the fin 4d is formed as an opposing earth electrode and a discharge cable 5 forming an ionization section and a dust collecting zone between it and the fin 4d is arranged in opposition against the fin 4d, a water is sprayed over the fine 4d and a water supply tube 9 is provided at the upper portion of heat exchanger 4 for flowing down dusts collected by the fin. As a result, it is available to use an air conditioner which is simple in construction, provide an increased dust collecting rate and a reduced pressure loss and requires less installation space. Besides, the air conditioner needs not to clean and replace a filter.
