Also, the magnetizing equipment 40 is provided with a rack base 41 placed so as to stride over the truck 71 and being freely movable in the right angle direction (lateral direction) C against the truck running direction (longitudinal direction) B, equipments 47, 106 and 111 placed so as to be opposed to the steel billet M on the truck 71, and for detecting a position of the lateral direction C of the steel bloom M, and a member 49 for suspending the electromagnet 56 from the rack base 41. According to such a constitution, a long size steel billet is magnetized effiiently and uniformly, and a flaw can be detecting extending over a wide dimension range.
