description PURPOSE:The titled drug that contains omega-piperazinylalkoxy)-alkylenedioxybenzene as an active ingredient, thus developing hypotensive action rapidly and keeping it for hours with high safety. CONSTITUTION:The objective drug contains omega-piperazinylalkoxy)-alkylenedioxybenzene of formula I (m is 1-3; n is 2-10; the group of formula II is phenyl which may be sustituted with halogen, trifluoromethyl, alkoxy, or alkylcarbonyl) or its acid adduct as an active ingredient. The compound of formula I is obtained by reaction between a halogenoalkoxyalkylenedioxybenzene of formula III(X is halogen) and a piperazine of formula IV in the presence or absence of an inert solvent such as THF at room temperature to 150 deg.C. The compound of formula I rapidly develops hypotensive action sufficiently even on oral administration, further, showing weak acute toxicity. The safety of the drug is very high considering its threshold value.
