description PURPOSE:To carry out printing excellent in weatherability and wear resistant property, in a liquid pressure transfer printing method, by a method wherein a thinner is scattered on the pattern forming surface of a water soluble support or the surface of an object to be transferred directly before transferring and, after transfer printing is carried out, a transparent protective film is provided to the printed surface. CONSTITUTION:A desired pattern 1 is formed on a sheet like water soluble support 2 made of polyvinyl alcohol by using a printing ink or a paint having a contact angle with water of 50-80 deg. and this pattern formed water soluble support 2 is floated on a water surface W while a thinner of which the SP value (solubility parameter) is within the range of formula is scattered on the pattern forming surface 1 of the water soluble support 2 to soften the printing ink 1. In the next step, an article 3 to be transferred made of synthetic resin is pressed to the water soluble support 2 and all or the part thereof is fallen in water to carry out transfer printing under liquid pressure. In addition, a transparent coating film excellent in weatherability and wear resistant property and having a contact angle with water of 50-80 deg. is formed on the printed surface after transfer printing.
