description PURPOSE:To improve the position matching accuracy and to decrease the time required for decision, by registering a seal print lavel showing various features including the position and the tilt angle simultaneously in registration of a seal print pattern and then collating a seal. CONSTITUTION:When a pattern is registered, an operator supplies in the corresponding numeric characters, symbols or codes a label 100 showing a round, square or oval shape of a seal print, the presence or absence of a see-through line, the existence of the see-through line at the center of the seal image, etc. through a keyboard, etc. Then this registered seal print label 100 is read out during the collation. In accordance with the result of reading, the optimum direction is carried out in response to the seal print pattern in order to indicate the tilt angle detecting method which is applied to a tilt angle detecting parts 40 and 70 from a deciding sequence.
