Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To reduce the discarding parts of ingots owing to mixing of steels of dissimilar kinds considerably, by inserting and settling a partition material until said material is embedded in the prescribed position under the melt surface upon ending of casting of the previous steel kind then casting the next steel kind differing from said steel kind. CONSTITUTION:A partition material 1 is sunk down to a prescribed position upon ending of the charging of previous molten steel 6, and molten steel 8 of the next kind is charged right thereafter. Since the solidified shell 9 of the next steel kind is formed in continuation with the shell 7 of the next steel kind, the binding is firm and there is no disconnection of the joint. Since the size of the partition material 1 is so determined that the material 1 and the shell 7 of the previous kind contact with each other or have a small spacing between the same after insertion of the partition material, the solidification in the juncture of the material 1 and the shell 7 progresses quickly when the charging of the next steel kind is started. Therefore, the steel 8 is shut off thoroughly in the position of the partition material and the mixing range of the molten steels between both kinds is limited only on the plate 1, resulting in the narrowed range. The discarding parts where the steel kinds do not fit to each other on account of mixing of the dissimilar kinds are thus reduced. |
