PRODUCTION PROCESS FOR OXIDATION-PROOF GETTER DEVICE

PURPOSE:To produce a getter device of high quality with oxidation-resistance at a high temperature, by dissolving boron oxide into a solvent which does not form volatile ester, spreading this solution over the getter material or the getter device filled with said getter material, and drying it. CONSTITUTION:Boron oxide is dissolved into a solvent except water, for instance, ethylene glycol monomethyl ether which does not form volatile ester by a reaction with boron oxide. This solution is spread on a getter material composed of a mixture of Ba-Al alloy powder and Ni powder or on a getter device whose metallic holder is filled with this getter material. An oxidation-proof getter device of high quality can be mass-produced easily and at a low cost by means of this process.
