The commutator (15) may be produced by sintering carbon containing material with a simultaneous sintering-on of the copper metal layer 55, forcing ring (15) member (24) and soldering the copper layer (55) to the connecting elements (56), casting resin (59) into longitudinal grooves in the ring (15), and sawing the ring (15) in a radial direction so that the individual segments (25) are separated from one another. Pump (1) may be roller type in which a second suction region (44) ensures removal of gases/vapours from the suction or pump region. Other pump types are mentioned.
