DEVICE FOR MEASURING AMOUNT OF DUST ATTACHED TO CARPET AND THE LIKE

PURPOSE:To rationalize cleaning work by providing a filter paper to which part of the dust in inhaled air is attached and a light emitting means and the like which emit the light beam to the filter paper, reading the amount of the light reflected from the filtering paper as an electric signal, thereby measuring the amount of the attached dust. CONSTITUTION:The measuring device comprises a detecting part S which is detachably attached to a path for air inculding dust and a measuring part M which electrically connected to said detecting part S by a cord 11. Said detecting part S comprises the filter paper 16 to which the part of the dust in the inhaled air is attached, and a phototransistor 20 which receives the reflected light from the filter paper 16 and outputs the electric signal proportional to the amount of received light. By reading the amount of variation in the input light beam by the phototransistor 20 as the electric signal, the amount of attached dust to the filter paper 16 is detected. Since the amount of the attached dust can be measured at the same time of the cleaning of the carpet and the like, the cleaning work is rationalized.
