description PURPOSE:To reproduce an analog signal with high quality, by sampling a signal only at a video period of an analog video signal with a specified sampling frequency and making said signal into a digital signal, recording the digital signal on a recording medium, to reduce the memory capacity of recording and reproducing system. CONSTITUTION:A signal from an analog video signal input terminal 1 is inputted to an A/D converter 5, sampled at the 1st sampling frequency, applied to an RAM and a control circuit 6 and a signal for one frame's share is stored in the RAM. On the other hand, an audio signal of each channel from analog audio signal input terminals 2-4 is sampled at the 2nd sampling frequency with an A/D converter 7 and applied to a signal processing circuit 8. A digital signal is read out from the RAM of the circuit 6 with extended time axis and applied to the processing circuit 8 and recorded on a disc recording medium 11 via a sequential modulation circuit 9 with the signal processing at the processing circuit 8. The memory capacity of recording and reproducing systems can be reduced with this recording system and the analog signal is reproduced with high quality.
