Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject system enabling the elastic wave transmitted due to insect damage activities by termite on the surface and inside of wood to be efficiently detected over a wide range through contact of a sensor with one end of a metallic piece as waveguide embedded in the wood. SOLUTION: This system for detecting insect damage by termite, which is composed of a metallic piece 1 with part thereof embedded in wood, a sensor 2 abutted on the exposed portion of the metallic piece 1, and a circuit for processing signals from the sensor 2, is intended to find an insect damage by termite through detecting the elastic wave transmitted via the metallic piece 1 due to insect damage activities by termite by the aid of the sensor 2.
