SOLUTION: A reaction mixture containing diarylcarbonate obtained by an aromatic monohydroxy compound with phosgene or arylchloroformate is brought into contact with an alkali aqueous solution to be neutralized and separated to an organic phase and a water phase, then the organic phase is brought into contact with warm water, thus is separated to the water phase and the organic phase again, and diarylcarbonate is recovered from the organic phase. In the purification method, the water phase separated after the contact with the warm water is re-utilized to prepare the alkali aqueous solution. |
