COMPOSITION FOR TABLET AND TBLETING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for a tablet such as a sustained release tablet, capable of preventing sticking of an oily and fatty base to a punch caused at the time of tableting and capable of tableting with a small amount of an excipient by formulating the oily and fatty base containing a physiologically active ingredient therein with silicon dioxides. SOLUTION: This composition for tableting is obtained by formulating an oily and fatty base (e.g. stearic acid monoglyceride) containing a physiologically active ingredient (e.g. acetaminophen) therein with silicon dioxide and a crystalline cellulose, then carrying out the spray solidifying granulation of the resultant formulation and the grading of the formed granules, providing the granules having 100 μm average grain diameter, subsequently adding hydrous silicon dioxide and a crystalline cellulose to the resultant granules and mixing the prepared mixture with a V-shaped mixer. The resultant composition is capable of preventing the oily and fatty base from sticking to a punch occurring at the time of tableting and useful for tableting of the formulation into a sustained release tablet, etc., without requiring the use of a large amount of an excipient.
