Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical composite cable which has both functions of optical communication and transmission of an electric signal or electric power and for which reducing of its diameter and its weight is attained by winding an aluminum pipe which houses an optical fiber and has an insulative pipe sheath around a hard copper wire having a copper wire sheath. SOLUTION: This optical composite cable is obtd. by manufacturing the aluminum pipe 3 while housing an optical unit 2, then forming the pipe sheath 5 on its circumference and forming a copper wire sheath 4 on the circumference of the hard copper wire 1 aside therefrom, then winding the aluminum pipe 3 around the hard copper wire 1. The winding pitch of the aluminum pipe 3 onto the hard copper wire 1 is preferably about 350 to 500 mm. One set of the transmission line is constituted by the hard copper wire 1 and the aluminum pipe 3 with this optical composite cable and, therefore, the transmission of the electric signal and electric power is executed by using such cable and since the optical unit 2 is housed in the aluminum pipe 3, a light signal is transmitted by using the optical unit 2.
