description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a platinum electrode having high porosity and high current density even in the case of being sintered at >=1500 deg.C. SOLUTION: This method for producing a platinum electrode includes a step 10 where a mixture of the powders of platinum, ceramic and carbon are added to a medium to form an ink, a step 12 where the ink is applied to an unsintered body, and a step 16 where the unsintered body and the ink are sintered to form a platinum electrode and the carbon powder is removed from the ink in the process of the sintering. Since carbon prevents the sintering and densification of platinum, this electrode is suitable for high temp. sintering. Thus, the produced electrode maintains high porosity and high current density.
