Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To consolidatedly control electronic equipments in a home network. SOLUTION: In IRD 2, a CPU 21 controls a 1394 communication part 25 to send a power-on command as a 1394 command to electronic equipment through an IEEE1394 cable, and the power source of the electronic equipment connected by the IEEE1394 cable is turned on. Further, the CPU 21 controls an IR transmission part 30 for electronic equipment which can not be powered on through the IEEE1394 cable to send an infrared-ray signal corresponding to the power-on command to the object electronic equipment, whose power source is turned on. Bus resetting is carried out and the electronic equipment is recognized as a node in the network. Further, the CPU 21 controls a 1394 communication part 45 to read out attribute information on recognized electronic equipment.
