PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reproducing device whose reproduction system is independently of a reproduction mode. SOLUTION: The image reproducing device is provided with a compression image data read section 1 that reads compressed image data, an image decoding section 2 that decodes an image, an image storage section 3 that stores the decoding result, a timing signal generating section 4 that generates a frame switching timing signal and a display timing signal, a television signal conversion section 5 that converts the image data into a television signal, a control section 6 that controls the operation of the device and a reproduction mode setting section 7 that sets a reproduction mode.
