description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a picture element with continuously variable correction in each wave length band since sensivity dispersion of each detected picture element is different in each wave length band, in a solid image pick-up unit capable of dividing an effective wave length band of a photo detecting element into plural wave length bands to vary a damping factor of each wave length continuously. SOLUTION: This unit is provided with a correcting device 17 comprising frame memories 10-12 of which a number is same to a number of wave length bands for storing an output of a photo detecting element 4 with respect to one wave length band out of respective wave length bands, a frame memory for storing a dark output of the photo detecting element 4, a correction control part 17 for outputting a constant provided by subtracting the damping factor in each wave length band from one, multipliers 13, 14 for multiplying the constant and outputs of the frame memories 10-12, an adder 15 for adding outputs of the multipliers 13, 14 and an output of the frame memory for storing the dark output, and a subtractor 16 for subtracting an output of the adder 15 from an output of an A/D converter.
