Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce 2-chloro-3-hydroxypyridine in high yield by a simple method by reacting 3-hydroxypyridine with sodium hypochlorite in an aqueous medium. SOLUTION: In an aqueous medium 3-hydroxypyridine is made to react with sodium hypochlorite. A preferable example for the process is as follows: for example, to a solution of hydrochloric acid in water are added 2- aminomethylfuran and chlorine preferably simultaneously while keeping pH-value at -1 to 5 with an aqueous solution of hydroxide such as sodium hydroxide, subsequently the obtained reaction mixture is cooled and filtered, 30-60% of the whole of the reaction mixture is placed in a reacting vessel, the pH is made 11-13 with a sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, the pH-adjusted solution is cooled to -5 deg.C to 5 deg.C, then the rest of the reaction mixture and the above- mentioned sodium hypochlorite aqueous solution are added preferably simultaneously. |
